Dust Party is one of my American projects, which concentrates geographically on the desert and border regions of Southern California and Mexico and the cities of Los Angeles and Tijuana. At the time I shot these pictures around one million illegal immigrants were annually sent back from the US to Mexico.

This number has since than significantly declined but the issues of immigration, border security, illegal weapon trafficking, the so called “war on drugs” and the proximity of two economically different nations are still defining the politics of these two countries today.
